During Lent, we will be collecting items for welcome baskets to be distributed at the The Albert J. Solmit Children’s Center in Middletown, CT. The baskets are given to youth when they are admitted to the center, helping them to adjust to their new environment.
The welcome baskets contain items such as: shampoo, hand cream, deodorant, lip balm, books, stuffed animals, and a homemade fleece blanket. A complete list of items will be available by mid-February.
Welcome baskets will be assembled in March.
There will be an opportunity to assemble the welcome basket’s fleece blankets in February, as well. Check the Sunday church bulletin for updated information on date and time.
