Have you ever wished you could create a beautiful quilt that could be passed down from generation to generation? Well, this is your chance! A new Community Quilting Group meets at the First Congregational Church of Haddam on the first Wednesday of each month from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon and on the third Wednesday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Initially everyone will be making a Split Rail Fence pattern quilt using fabric of choice. Once the initial project is complete, participants will work on items of their own choosing. Instruction in quilting techniques is available from expert quilters, Kay Kestermont and Ruth Bacon. Sufficient space is available for sewing machines and irons.
Open to both experienced and novice quilters alike, this group provides an opportunity to meet with people who share a common interest and to learn new quilting techniques.
