The FCCH/HCC Combined Sunday School Students are working on a Mission Project to try to make a difference in the lives of those affected by the recent natural disasters in Puerto Rico, the Caribbean Islands, Montana, Texas, Florida, and Mexico. 100% of the funds collected will be used to help supply victims of these disasters with food, water, cleaning supplies, & hygiene kits. There will be an on-going, urgent need to help stabilize these communities and provide the victims with food, water, and shelter.
The children are excited to share the word of their mission and inspire others
to join in and help make a difference for those in need.

You may also send a check, payable to either “FCCH” or “HCC”, c/o Higganum Congregational Church, 23 Parsonage Road, Higganum, CT 06441 (please write “Children’s Mission” in the memo line.) If you are local, you can also donate items needed to fill the Hygiene Kits and Clean Up Buckets (items needed are listed below). The children will be filling the buckets and kits and delivering them to UCC Disaster Ministries where they will be shipped to areas of greatest need.
100% of the funds received will go to the victims for relief.
Items needed to fill a Cleaning Bucket include:
clean 5 gallon buckets w/lids, 4 scouring pads, 7 sponges (1 large one), 1 scrub brush, 18 reusable cleaning towels (easy wipes), 1 or 2 bottles of liquid laundry detergent, 16-28oz bottle of liquid disinfectant dish soap, 12-16oz household cleaner (no spray bottles), package of clothespins, clothesline 100ft, 5 dust masks, 2 pairs non-surgical latex gloves, 1 pair work gloves, heavy duty trash bags, 1 6-9oz. bottle non-aerosol insect repellent.
One item or multiple items can be dropped off at either First Congregational Church of Haddam, 905 Saybrook Road, Haddam, CT or Higganum Congregational Church, 23 Parsonage Road, Higganum, CT.
