Holiday Shopping Night
Friday, December 5th
Did you know that 47%* of Hartford children live below the federal poverty level? Many of these children don’t have an opportunity to give presents to their families. The Shopping Night gives kids the chance to pick out holiday presents for their families. The kids “shop” from new and gently-used gifts donated primarily by residents of Killingworth and Haddam.
Each child arrives with their list of four family members. Volunteers help them choose one gift for each family member, and then volunteers wrap the presents for the kids!
We need volunteers to keep the tables stocked, to help the kids shop, and to wrap presents. It is a really amazing, fast-paced experience!
With 300 shoppers expected this year, our volunteers are an incredibly important part of the experience!
