Congratulations to the NARWHALS, the winners of the 2016 Vacation Bible School Penny War Mission Project Competition! This group of 4th & 5th graders brought in over 4,500 pennies and hundreds of other coins to become the Penny War Champions and winners of the Perpetual Penny War Trophy.
All the VBS campers are to be congratulated for the more than 10,000 coins they brought in during the week. It was a close competition until the Narwhals were able to pull away on Friday by bringing in $45 in coins on that day alone!
Penny Wars started as a fun way to support various mission and outreach projects during VBS and this year raised $292 for the Emma Becker, a 5th grader at HKMS, who is battling neurofibromatosis.
