This workshop is for any teen or adult who is interested in volunteering to work with our children or youth (under 18), and any Deacon, Trustee, Moderator, key holder, or other church leader who has not done a Safe Conduct training in the past 2 years.

As informed and caring church leaders, it is our responsibility to work together to create an environment of safety for our two congregations. This training is important as we move forward sharing worship, nursery care and Sunday school. Also, trainings such as this one are a routine expectation by those providing insurance coverage for each church.

With conversations, case studies and more, this training will cover the basics and beyond to increase awareness and provide strategies to church leaders in all roles on this vital aspect of our life together as communities of faith.

Our trainer for this event will be Karen Ziel, Commissioned Minister of Faith Formation and Leadership for the Connecticut Conference of the United Church of Christ. There will be a sign up sheet at FCCH and HCC. If you will require nursery care to attend, please let us know as soon as possible so we can make arrangements. If you have had a similar training through your work, please provide us with evidence of such training.
