Mission & Vision Statements
In 2020, FCCH & HCC adapted the following temporary mission and vision statements:
a. MISSION: Seeking guidance from the Holy Spirit, the FCCH and HCC congregations are exploring shared ministry and mission.
b. VISION: During this transition period, the leadership and membership of the congregations are engaging in multiple opportunities for faith development, joint programs, respectful listening, and problem-solving around barriers to partnership.
FCCH Open and Affirming Statement
“We, the First Congregational Church of Haddam, United Church of Christ, are committed to loving each other as God loves us, freely and unconditionally. We therefore covenant to welcome people of all gender identities and sexual orientations, races and ethnicities, mental and physical abilities, marital and socioeconomic status into the full life of ministry and leadership of this faith community. We are committed to the mission of Christ’s teaching of all encompassing love, peace and justice for all creation.”
